She was so close to us, literally like two feet away. It was so surreal to see someone that you watch on TV this close up. Just very odd to think, oh she's probably going to call Jon later and talk to the kids or something like that after she's done here in INDIANPOLIS haha. It was very entertaining to watch all of the crazies who came by with their own little line to say to her, that they clearly planned out all to well. Anything from "My sister's in the hospital having a baby, to I love your kids!". One lady even asked Kate to sign something special in her book, and Kate said, sorry I just have time to sign my name. The lady got very angry and stormed off. She did have a french braid in her hair, mind you. After about an hour of watching all of these interesting people and listening to Kate chat with them, we decided to go check out the book line. At this point it was very short and we hopped in! Quickly we were approaching Kate and got very giddy! Ok, let me rewind for a sec. Obviously I am obsessed with the Loft and I have recently noticed that Kate must be too, because all of her outfits lately, have been from there. Tonight, she even had on a shirt I tried on from there-sadly it did NOT work for me. Much cuter on her. So my friend Mallory wore on of the sweaters she has and I wore a different Loft sweater. When we approached Kate she said, "I have that sweater!" (to Mallory) She even went on to say that she had it on earlier that day and how scary that was! haha. Then I chimed in a giddy voice that we noticed from the shows that she loves the Loft and so do we! haha how dorky, but at least she laughed, smiled, and actually stopped to talk to us!
I still can't believe we met Kate, who I have watched on TV for several years now...very strange to wrap my head around. I'm proud to be a fan of someone like her though instead of some celebrity who is about the wrong things and sending the wrong message. You can tell Jon & Kate try hard to uphold family values and include God in their everyday. Something that is very appreciated as an avid television viewer :) And by avid, I mean I probably love to TIVO way too much. What a great memory!

i could not wait to get to your blog and read it ( just got out off my class!)
one word - surreal!!!!
i had one experience when i was a teen in Taiwan. I was head over heel in love with the singer/idol back in the days - Tommy Page. He was touring in Asia and same thing, went out of my way to see him. Out of the huge crowd of fan, he picked my numbers and gave me a gift - a teddy bear (yeah, where in the world is that bear now?)
Anyway, what a fun evening, were there any kids there in the audience? Or no kids allowed? I wonder what she would say if she sees my Noel, even Noel thinks the girls look like her.
Are you ready for the weekend heatwave?
...by the way, the outfit from the loft...so she is now picking up her own outfits eh? i remember in the old shows, jon has to pick up clothes for her... haha
We love John and Kate, too! Kate is one of the funniest people ever...I loved watching their "back in the day" episode where it showed how they were before the kids. I sincerely wish she would get a different haircut, though...the side bang/9 inch long flop-over is not doing it for me. She has had cute haircuts before, so I know it's possible! So excited that you got to meet her Sar!
I loved the pics of Kate!
Now you know what it felt like for me to meet Davey Jones in person!!
xoxo
I agree Jess, the "bang" has got to go. It was even more hideous up close. I thought she looked really pretty with long hair back in the day. She has such a pretty face! Gosh don't you think her stylist would tell her these things?!
First of all, super jealous. Sounds like a good time.
Second of all, if you haven't noticed (which I'm sure as an avid fan, you have), her right eye is smaller than the left eye. Therefore the giant bang she has camouflages it a bit. I like the bang...just not a fan of the spikes in the back. What's that about?
Anyway, let's talk about how I love you and you said that lady had a french braid...ahahhaha.
haha I love french braids, but only on small children. I never noticed the eye, but I will look now! That's so funny. Next time Kate comes to town, I will definitely make sure you're here :)
