I was never really a sceptic until my Dad continued to fill my head full of thoughts that Chinese food wasn't really chicken or whatever else they might claim the meat is-but that it is in fact, cat and dog. If you know my Dad you know that his favorite phrase, it should really be his slogan, is "Take Puffy to China Wok." (In reference to my parents Yorkshire Terrier, Muffy) The meat never looked grade A to me, but I never questioned it...until TONIGHT! We were driving around Carmel trying to decide what to eat, when I got a craving for Chinese food. Now, PF Changs is only 10 minutes away at best, so I should have chosen to travel there, but I went for convenience...mistake. Well right next door to the restaurant is a store called "Pet Angel". This store is a place where animals are cremated, etc. Sophia and I looked through the windows as Howard went in to get the food and she seemed to get a funny look on her face and began to back away as if she knew something wasn't right with that place-she didn't want to be put into one of the doggy urns just yet. Well upon telling Howard he insisted that Pet Angel probably has a monopoly on the Chinese restaurants in town and is selling them their dead pets-and using random ashes to fill the pet urns with. Pretty creepy thinking on Howard's part, but then it did make me think, and lose my appetite...You decide!
(But paranoid or not-that is the last time we will eat any American Chinese cuisine that isn't PF Changs, thank you.)
