Last night and today we visited several stores in search of the perfect paint colors to splash onto our walls to spruce them up and give it our own personal stamp on things. Well, it's quite amazing how all of the colors look strikingly ALIKE! I kind of went in to it all knowing what I wanted which has helped things, but if I hadn't already had a vision for the style I hoped to obtain-I have a feeling I would be lost in a sea of paint samples. The overall color we would like on the majority of our walls is a khaki color that would be neutral and one we wouldn't soon tire of, like in the picture below...
The only color variations we may do are a darker khaki/greenish color in the family room and perhaps another color from that family as well in the kitchen. We don't want one room blue, one red and the next yellow...I really like to work with one color family and transition softly between rooms. We also plan to paint all of the trim white which will make our walls really pop.
I also wanted to give you all a preview of what our fireplace will someday look like all dressed up with this lovely wrought iron trio. Again, I will probably opt for the more reasonable version from Hobby Lobby, but I can't wait to create our own rustic look. I can already picture Sophie laying curled up by the fire...I might be there right with her!

Wasn't this issue of PB just lovely? I ordered one of the big hanging lanters that hangs on the wall w/ a hook and also a new throw. Just couldn't resist! I must agree on your pillow contemplation, though...you can make some that are just as pretty! PS-ever since you told Dustin that antlers are indeed chic decorating, he's had them sitting on the shelf in the front room...THANKS! I just don't have the heart to take them down...yet... ; )
