Naughty Girl.

Sophia has been naughty today and from time to time lately-mainly while she's on the leash. Now I can imagine it's not fun to be navigated around by someone else, but she's a dog and it's high time she got the clue.

Tonight for example, has been a rather rough one for her because Howard is working late. She's used to her usual schedule of me coming home and then Howard following shortly after. I'm not kidding you, she pushes the curtain to one side and will stare out the window at about the time he should be arriving. She see's his truck pull up and then she goes to wait at the door. Well her schedule is thrown off and she's not sure what's going on, resulting in her naughty-ness. She went on a walk today with Howard and I even took her on one when I got home, but still this has not seemed to help. I have things to do when I get home and she has followed me around all night looking worried and keeps poking me with her nose as if she wants something. So finally I caved and took her outside. BIG MISTAKE. I'm already crabby at this point due to the fact that it's cold out now and I was so cozy just moments ago...but then we walk out the door and she shoots between my legs about knocking me over and oh boy she sure did make me mad. I yanked her back and grabbed her around the mouth and said, NO! YOU ARE NAUGHTY! (haha, I know she can't understand, but sometimes it feels better to pretend they can) So then I decided to use some of my teacher tactics on her and we walked back to the door that she had just bolted from and tried it again. By this time she was coughing because I had to hold her leash so tightly because I had to show her that it was not okay to pull me (this is hard to considering she doesn't even weigh much less than me). So here we go again back to the grassy area and then I notice a couple walking toward me with their dog. They had seen the whole thing! How embarrasing! The woman said, "Looks like you've got your hands full." I sheepishly said, "Yesss she's a puppy and being very bad tonight!" I'm hoping they don't think I'm a mean dog owner, since they caught me in anger mode, but sometimes dogs just need to be reminded who's the boss! Hopefully Howard will get home soon so Miss Sophia can relax.
