Very emotional day today, both happy and sad! I was at school today until 5 pm, getting my classroom packed up and am thrilled to now be home, on the couch!
Howard thinks I should work over the summer. I scoff at the idea. Really, I need a slower paced lifestyle after zooming around like a hummingbird day in and day out. Phew. So here are some things that will be occupying my summer months (aka only really two, June and July...school starts the second week of August...wowza.)
- Finish packing up my classroom/organizing.
- Spend every morning that it's not raining, at our neighborhood pool. Lathered in SPF though, don't fret.
- Work on adding a coat of paint to nearly every wall in our home. The previous owner mostly had flat paint on the walls (thankfully in colors I love).
- Vacation in Siesta Key with my parents!
- Lots of school projects...my classroom theme next year is Colts Football. So you can imagine the work I have to do in order to get everything into football mode, Kindergarten style of course :)
- Touch up the trim in most all of our home. It has been banged up from two gray hounds and kids (previous owners).
- Organize the "junk room" which will someday, hopefully be a nursery :) For now, it looks like a tornado, possibly even hurricane hit it. I literally now just stand at the doorway and toss things into it.
- Move everything in my current classroom, around the corner, into a bigger classroom actually in the Kindergarten hallway. Thank you Jesus. I am very excited about this move, despite all of the work it creates. Bigger spaces equals less tight daily living quarters which equals happier teacher!
- Celebrate the 4th of July with the fam and have a Yard Bird help me clean and organize everything under the sun, in my new classroom.
- Paint the "blue" room upstairs and the "green" bathroom to a more neutral color, that doesn't make our house look like a candy shop.
- Spend lots of time with my gray hounds, oh how they love having their Mommy home during the dog days of summer!
- Welp, I think that about wraps things up. I think after all of this it will be time to go ahead full force into school mode again.
Here's to hoping everything on my list gets completed! Happy Summer!
