A New Chapter.

So seriously, how cute are these little turkeys? We just snapped this picture last week as our Cadet Teacher, from the High School, was having her last day in our classroom. This year has flown, and I fear the rest of them will too. I always get this bittersweet feeling as this end of the year time creeps up on me...of course I am VERY ready for summer, but yet you don't want to say good-bye to these little faces that have been a part of your life for an entire year. Being a teacher is such an investment in a child's life I guess I never realized until I actually started teaching. I am thrilled though, to able to be teaching at the same school next year and in the same grade, so they can all come visit me and say their "hellos" in the hallway. It is always an adventure figuring out every kiddo and learning how to best fit their needs, make them smile, laugh, make them know you mean business, and figuring out their interests. I am in awe of these little ones as they read to me, write notes and put them on my desk, and are writing numbers to 1,000! They have really taken their knowledge and ran with it, very rewarding!

Well, I'm sure I will have some tears come Thursday at around 10:50 am when we dismiss and for the first few weeks of school, it will feel strange teaching "new" kids, but I am excited for a fresh new batch of babies! I am so thankful to have a career that I wake up raring to go to each and every day. Thank you Lord for these wonderful children and the many MANY more to come :)

...until then, I will be packing up my current room and moving around the corner...Phew. I will take any helpers if they are interested! haha

Your students were very lucky to have you as their teacher this year Sarah. I know they will have a great head start into 1st grade, due to all the wonderful things you have taught them this year. We are very proud of you!! xoxo
