Happy New Year

I cannot believe another year has passed, where did 2008 go? The kids laughed at me in class while reading the morning message when I wrote that today's date was January 8th, 2008. I brushed it off saying I was just trying to "trick" them, and luckily they are at the age where they actually believe me! But, the truth is, I don't feel like much has changed to rectify this new year of 2009. Crazy.

We don't have any major resolutions, besides perhaps flossing more? I feel like this is what everyone says they will do at the beginning of the year, but I really need to, I struggle with making this a habit!
I've also picked up a new bad habit, which I vow to do more-shopping :) I will blame it on my co-workers for introducing me to The Loft. Basically everyone at our school has some version of every outfit in the store, in different colors. I had been in before and kind of snubbed it because I didn't see much I liked. However, going in over break was an eye opener, and I have been back WAY too much recently! There is one in the outdoor mall approximatly 400 yards from my home, so I think this might spell trouble! For instance, last night my friend Mallory, and I drove to a different location in Noblesville just so that I could pick up a sweater I had put on hold and check out the "different" selection they had. We plan to do a sweep of the stores at least once a month. haha. I haven't been much in the shopping mode lately, just because I haven't found much I've liked. Weird I know since I live in a big city, but now I feel my closet is much happier!
Howard has decided to join a gym because last time he tried to run the dogs he caught a cold. I guess running in 10 degree weather has its downfalls. I wouldn't know since I "claim" I get exercise by walking around our huge school and chasing down 5-year-old's all day.
We are both trying to read more and just enjoy life! I'm desperately trying to finish The Shack and Howard's reading one of about five books he has started.
We are also still loving our beloved dogs in this new year-ornery as ever, they still win over our hearts. EVEN if Oliver scratches at our bed most mornings at 3:15 because he just can't hold it any longer. Ridiculous. Luckily, I claim I get too scared to let the dog out, so Howard does it :)
I hope you all are having a wonderful new year! Happy 2009!
(Oh, I also apologize if you have not received our Christmas card yet, I didn't know they needed extra postage, so I have them in a stack waiting to re-send out...please forgive me!)

That is a lovely photo of the family, and may I ask, young lady.... is that a burberry scarf? Or just a small photo that tricked my eyes(like you did to the kids?)
