How does a doggie stay warm in the cold?

It has been so cold out lately I thought it would be fitting to break out her stylish knit duo (scarf and leg warmers) and puff vest. If it were warm enough, I would totally walk her on the Monon like so and I'm sure she would get lots of "ooohs" and "ahhhs". And, I'm confident Aunt B would have a few orders lined up! She also really needs some boots because she can barely walk on the snow, she kind of hops from place to place...
Oliver could care less about the cold weather and even killed a bird yesterday in the -25 windchill. Poor robin, however, it already looked about half frozen-perhaps this was a lucky kill on Oliver's part.

They are both headed to Camp Bow Wow in the upcoming weeks due to their stir crazy behavior. This is mainly for Oliver who is dealing with some serious behavior problems. He can barely sleep through the night because he's so full of energy, scratches at the doors/windows/walls non-stop wanting to go outside because he's bored, and gets in to everything for something to "do". Instead of being mad at him, I have tried to find out the root of the problem since he hasn't always been this bad. And then I realized, since the winter, Howard hasn't been able to take him on his daily 3 mile runs and he is trying to release his puppy energy in some way. Sophie is an old girl now and just likes to sleep on her bed or ours most of her waking hours, but Oliver is a whole different pup. We may let Soph go sometimes, but Oliver will probably go once a week until the weather gets warmer. It is an awesome facility that allows them to run and play all day with other dogs and they have lots of toys/activities to do. One of my friends from school takes her golden retriever and said he can barely keep his eyes open when she picks him up and is tired for days after. That would be SO worth it to me. I know it's silly, but it's evident he needs "doggy day care" haha. I never thought I would be one of those people, but I'm 100% sure it will help out with his behavior and over all well-being. Summer will be a different story because I will be home everyday/all day and they will get a walk in the mornings and probably a run with Howard at night. It also is comforting because they board the dogs as well and it would be so fun for them to get to play all day while we are away on vacations, etc. I would feel so much better about keeping them somewhere like this instead of burdening family members or kenneling them at a vet (cruel!). They will be used to their surroundings and will have their own "vacation". Anyways, I'm sure many stories are to come from their Camp Bow Wow experiences!

That's cool Ollie & Soph will have a place to play with other pets in a good environment. I think it's a great idea especially for Ollie. I know you and Howie won't know how to act if he comes home pooped!! Keep us posted!! XOXO

I love your dog's winter outfit and think the doggy daycare sounds wonderful! Izzy is getting rather bored around the house! I just recently started a blog. I'm trying at least! I haven't read the book you recommended but I will put it top of my list! I figure I will keep going down his list of reads because I enjoyed his presentation SO MUCH! Did I see where your house is for sale?

Does this mean that the beasts will be at the doggie day care place when you come to visit?????

NO SHELB THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT. Only when we are on vacay, i.e. Branson this summer! Unless you want to fit the bill each time :)
