Framing Project: Check!

Finally, well almost, finished with the framing project. They are all up, but I put them up with the new Command picture strips in effort to avoid putting 12 holes in our newly painted walls, but they just aren't quite up to snuff. You have to align them just perfectly and if they're even a bit off you can see them from the sides of the frame. They would work nicely I think on a single frame, but not so much on an entire grouping. I'm also slightly afraid that eventually the velcro-like material holding up the frames might wear out, causing frames to fall on people's heads who sit on the couch...that doesn't sound like a great thing! So, in all effort to keep the 12 holes away, looks like they will be appearing quite shortly.

I am pretty pleased with how the project turned out, of course in my mind there are things I would change, but overall I achieved the look I was going for. I also found a great fireplace screen at Home Depot yesterday. We had one from the other house but it was black and had lots of curly/scrolly things...what I'm trying to get away from. It is a taller height too which is great and is the same metal color as our lamp and overhead lights in the living room/kitchen. What a find for only $30. Home Depot is usually the last place I would look, but I'll have to keep it in my head for resources to check next time!

Now to complete the room I just need two mirrors, in the same metal color or dark wood color to FINISH the walls. My goal is to find each mirror for $15-$20.
I also saw this grass-like arrangement that goes floor to mid-wall, on the HGTV Green Home 2010. I think it would look nice on the wall next to the fireplace, to kind of tie in the wicker-ish screen I have.
Ok, so TWO more things on the list....frames and this grass thing. Phew...and then onto another room!

Sar this looks fabulous!
I just exclaimed in a high-pitch voice to Dustin, "Sarah's room looks like it could be straight outta Pottery Barn!"
The colors in the pictures look beautious with the colors in your pillows. Gorge!
So proud of you, Peanut!

We're working on a similar project w/ frames, but they're all of our wedding pictures. I imagine it'll look like a giant black and white collage. Also going above our couch! Great minds think alike, much?? ; )
