Even though I tried, some of them aren't perfectly spaced. But Howard said that isn't a problem since they will all grow out and around in time. The overall goal for a look is that they will eventually form a very short hedge together. This will involve much clipping, I'm afraid! Looks like I need to muster up a green thumb!
I might also need to find a green thumb for the twisty topiaries we purchased to sit by the front door. I have ALWAYS loved these and wanted something like them, but was ecstatic to find that they were available at the nursery we were at...however, for quite the price! Ouch...but anyways, I do adore them. Now I am on the hunt for the perfect pots to accompany them. I am looking for a ceramic in a mustardy yellow color. Not the easiest to find as you can imagine!
We will be waking up bright and early tomorrow to finish many more projects...
I will be planting these white Iris's (sp? I can't ever remember how to use the "S" or "apostrophe" guess that's why I just teach K!) behind the boxwoods. I wanted tulips, but you had to plant those last fall and these actually bloom early summer AND again in the fall, AND are perennials. SCORE! They are lovely too.
Oh, and how could I forget-MORE MINI-BOXWOODS to plant! These are going to line the other side of the walk. I'm pretty sure I could plant one of these with my eyes closed after how many times I did it today!
Howard will be finishing up in this bed, planting hostas and a few more things. He worked on planting these boxwoods, a hydrangea bush (in the middle, which looks dead-but will soon bud, I hope!), grasses, and another flowering bush in the front (not pictured).
He is also working on the bed to the side of our house, adding some more grasses and these tall green plants. The names have all escaped me because the sun has washed out my brain I think haha. They are REALLY neat looking, even though Howard turns his nose up at them. They will be fun I think!
What was also FUN, was our two friends watching us out the window all day, just to give us that extra moral support we needed. I'm sure they wished they could be out there helping...pshhh RIGHT.
To be continued!
