Growing up, we used to make the annual hike up to Peoria to walk in the Race for the Cure with my Aunt B...what lovely memories I have from those times! I haven't been a participant again, until this year. Howard and I just signed up this morning to join the Carmel Elementary Pink Tigers team (you can imagine the thrill felt by Howard to be walking with a team name such as that)! Our school has felt the sorrows, accompanied by breast cancer first hand with several survivors-so it is a big to do! I had hesitated in walking, just because of all the other things that come up. Howard even mentioned that he would like to walk/run the night before last and I really considered it, but didn't move into action. Then, after school yesterday when word got out that one of our amazing Kindergarten aides had just been diagnosed with breast cancer, THAT day, I knew I had to rally around her. Our whole Kindergarten team will be walking Saturday morning to honor the journey she is about to embark on. Even though she is not my personal aide, I have admired her from afar all year because of her patient way with the kiddos and beautiful, kind spirit. My prayers are with her and I have faith in knowing that if anyone could fight such a battle, it's her. Please lift her up in your prayers along with all of the women who will be participating in the Race for the Cure this Saturday...what courage they all have!

You'll have to make the trek again, my sweet. I haven't visited your blog in a long time--thought you were only facebooking. Love it that you're still in here!!! Love you!
