This past weekend we headed to Illinois, despite warning of a winter storm, to see the girls perform in the Moscow Ballet/Nutcracker. We made it there fine, but woke up the next morning to a lot of snow and word that the ballet had been CANCELED. How sad! I had been so looking forward to this show, as the girls had too. Nothing sounds better to me than wonderful music and sparkly costumes, mixed with ballet. There has been talk of a reschedule, but no one's for sure at this point.
We ended up running some errands (also, plowing driveways-which Howard & Dad were involved in, note: see orange man above) and then heading to the Robert's Saturday evening just to hang out. It was quite a snowy trip there and back. All of us enjoyed food, fun, and time with family. The kids introduced us to the Wii, which I hadn't ever seen/played before (even my Mom was boxing and playing tennis). Tilly was as cute as ever and was missing Sophie I could tell, but we didn't want to bring her with all of the snow and such. They will play soon! Tilly looks awfully cute with the snow piled on top of her soft, black curly hair. We miss you guys already!
The weekend wrapped up with a delicious lunch at Monicals, which I really miss living all the way over here in Indy, and then we braved the storm. It actually wasn't too bad and I was delighted to get a call on the way that we would have a 2 hour delay the next day for school. Upon arrival into our un-shoveled driveway (with about 6.5 inches of snow) Howard sped up and broke through a snow drift, causing our car to sort of fly...somehow we made it into the garage? It was also wonderful to notice that our mail box had been completely knocked down by the city snow plows on our busy street, lovely! Of course, Sophie missed it all, never being woken up and was snoozing comortably in the back seat. Also, to end this weekend or start of a new one, which ever way you'd like to look at it-I found out about my job. So I'm guessing by now you can figure out what happened...if I had gotten the job, I think I would have started out the post with that bit of good news. However, that wasn't the case and I'm here with that to report. I can't say I wasn't dissapointed, but somehow I can say that I'm not defeated. It's very hard to keep applying and interviewing when there hasn't been much success to date, however, I know I must keep going-keep trying. I liked a part of Joel's daily message today that said, "I choose to consider Your ability over my circumstance."
