Green Clean

Well as all of you probably know, I am a bit of an organic obsessed person. Wild Oats is my favorite place to go and I'm constantly wishing I could just buy out the store. Everyone is going "green" it seems...even Pottery Barn has come out with a new line of organic bedding. It makes sense though I feel, why would you want to surround yourself with harmful chemicals that are potentially cancer causing?
I've also been complaining a lot because I have to CLEAN the apartment so much. There is tons of construction going on underneath us, causing dust to just congregate to our little slice of the building. I just mopped/dusted the front area of the apartment last week and already it is unsightly again. I may be a bit over exaggerating to some due to the fact that I am a clean freak-I could be compared to Monica from Friends-but the uncleanliness that I feel is our apartment drives me batty. Today I will be mopping/cleaning/dusting the back half of the apartment...why though I ask myself? It will only look like a dust bowl by the weekend.

But the point of this post? I have begun to use Seventh Generation cleaning products, an organic product, but that can be found at non-organic stores such as Target. So far I use the dish soap, hand soap, all purpose spray, and bathroom cleaner. There are no harsh smells, not dangerous to pets/children, and STILL make the areas clean! I have asthma so surrounding myself with potent sprays like Lysol, Mr. Clean, BAM, 409, etc. can really affect me. I used to worry too because Sophie licks the floor a lot, and I wouldn't want her to be licking up dangerous chemicals. Many products claim they are organic but make sure they have the certified seal on the bottle.
Seventh Generation also has things like toilet paper, paper towel, and paper plates-but I will wait until we get a little bit more money in our piggy bank until I begin to go full fledged organic.

My message for the day, stop surrounding yourself with harmful chemicals-GO GREEN!
