We are about to join the Apple Family. A good family to be a part of, don't you think? With all of the hullaballoo about this blasted iPhone, I figured I would have jumped on the bandwagon by now. I have loved the dear Apple ever since we used them in college and always pined after one, but never found it a necessity due to the fact that we had a working, operating computer. I'm not about just spending money when I don't have to, if you haven't noticed (and who's counting my scarf collection hanging in my closet?). So, we have still been using Howard's laptop which is from his sophmore year of college, mind you. That is OLD. When it works too hard it starts getting really hot and making a loud noise which we like to refer to as though it is "thinking" really HARD. Sometimes when it gets too overwhelmed the screen just goes black and it turns off completely. Usually if you just wait a few minutes for it to "cool off" it will come back on and act as though nothing happened. This honestly doesn't bother me, but I do worry for when it doesn't ever come back on. However, we would be in a bind when all of our information, pictures, etc is on this ancient thing and it goes out for good. With all of that said, I suppose it is time to take the leap...GULP...into purchasing a new computer. Gasp. I would really rather save my pennies, but I see that it is becoming necessary to dig deep into my pockets. We were kind of torn between the iMac and the MacBook, but have ultimately decided on the desktop. We would like to eventually have a laptop too, but for now will start with the desktop. A plus with all of this, is that I get a small teacher discount AND a free iPod touch for ordering before school starts. We will also be getting wireless internet, so the iPod touch can really work as a small, very small laptop, because you are able to access the internet from it. It will be nice for just quick email checks/responses, facebook stalking, YOU know the drill. :) Welp. I guess that sums it up. We will be the new proud parents of an Apple soon. I just need to hit "purchase" before I think about the dolla signs. Dad, are you sure we're not Jewish?

Your dad's comment is you are Jewish/Irish. :)
WELCOME to the family, I hope you two are the proud owners already. Once you "convert" into Apple, you will never go back to your old "sinful PC"!
