Random Rambles

Today is Friday and is my day OFF. Off you ask? Isn't it the summer? Don't you get your WHOLE. SUMMER. OFF. Well, normally this would be the case. But truth is, going into my fourth year (holy cats, I feel old) of teaching I have never had a "quiet" summer. I'm rooting for next summer to finally be still. I have been in my new classroom, literally everyday since last Thursday and this is the first day I have not let myself go in. I have this obsession with getting it all SET and DONE, so that I can then relax and do my overly organized activities, that make me smile. As a teacher, I always am worried I will never get it all done before the kiddos come busting in and it always does pan out. Truth is the room is coming along and I'm so excited for how it's looking. I also received my new Scentsy and cannot wait to plug it in, in my classroom. Remember my theme is Colts Football, so this suits the room perfectly! With scents like Mochadoodle, Vanilla Walnut, and Perfectly Pomegranate...the smells of little children toots will surely be kept to a minimum!

I'm also very excited/inspired by Thrifty Decor Chick's latest post about how to create greenery for cheap! I have been looking for something to put on my new table in the kitchen and will definitely be creating one of these for it...perhaps a weekend project, since I have BANNED myself from working at school. Seriously. I mean it. But anyways, who knew this could be so easy and SO cheap? I nearly gasp as I look at the price tags on half of my favorite faux floral/greenery pieces...but this will definitely be a good trick to keep up my sleeve! Check out her post "Faux Faux Floral".

I also apologize for not posting my auction finds yet. Like I said, I have been so crazily busy with lunch dates, trying to keep up on my household chores, working in the classroom and managing to sleep that they have been pushed to the back burner. I also meant to try out a new auction MUCH closer last night, but due to my exhaustion was on the couch savoring Chik-Fil-A instead. Oops.

Lastly, before I get on with my day, which involves getting to see this cutie...

Her and Mommy are flying out of our airport today. Aren't we lucky to live by such a great city where we get to see such great people fly in an out of once in awhile? I think so!

I will have to post another story about "Oliver and the Water Bottle" soon, as it is pure hilarity and should probably be a YouTube video. I will get right on that...in between mopping the floors and painting a giant football player to go on my bulletin board at school. Phew.
