Mid-Week Happenings

Off to the Auction tomorrow evening...here are a few things I am going to take a peek at, and possibly bid on...Better get my paddle ready!

This antique nightstand/side table has so much character...not exactly sure where I would use it yet, but if I could get it for a great price, I'm sure I could find a great place!

I love love love these area rugs. It looks like they are HUGE and possibly in the same pattern. I am not sure what kind of condition they are in, but I will examine them before raising my number. Of course, I would have them professionally cleaned before use, but the colors in them are amazing and I adore rugs. In my future home I will have NO carpet. Only rugs. So why not start collecting now?

I have been looking for a bench to go in the little nook by our front door for quite some time and thought this might be the one. I would spray it/paint it of course, not sure what color...but need to measure first before I bring it home. One thing I always bring to the auction is a tape measure!

My table arrived yesterday and is exactly as I pictured. The picture doesn't do it justice and I am aware it needs a good ironing out. However, the material is burlap and really just needs to hang, losing its wrinkles naturally. It fits so much better in the area than the other table I had previously. There is SO much more room to move around AND it even opened up some room for a table to go against the wall, under a picture I have hanging on the wall. I haven't added anything to the table top yet, but plan to. I am thinking some sort of rattan/rustic bowl with moss balls inside of it. We will be re-lowering the chandalier too. Howard had to shorten it when we had the taller table. Oh the list never ends!
We also have been upstairs all evening, Howard working on painting the red room tan and myself working on painting the blue room with stripes around the top of the wall, tan too. I am feeling somewhat accomplished that these two projects are getting done, as my summer break is quickly dwindling. Yipes.
Well off to sink into my chaise and eat a coconut water (milk) popsicle. Mmm. Don't judge sister. I am in need of some sweets after my dinner fiasco. Long story, short, I was a hot mess after shucking corn and finding WORMS (yes my worst nightmare ever, came true! Thank you country corn stand on the side of the road.) and then freaking out and disinfecting everything so much that left the taco meat on the stove too long, burning it to a crisp. I should really just eat out. Good thing PF Changs now takes orders online and via text messaging. Can I go there...now?

The entire hardwood floor house is my dream and I am living in it. Truly is great but takes a lot of works to clean. Vaccuum and mop is what I do at least 3-4 times a week. The worms in the corn....ughhh, why is this keep happening to my friends lately. My friend maggie woke up from nap and found a slug on her forehead last week!!!!!
