Oh, what a night!

A PICTURE JOURNAL THROUGH PART 1: STATE FAIR
When we got to the state fair last night, getting there at about 5 pm, and let me tell you it was still a scorcher. I was hoping it would be a bit cooler...but no, it was just miserable. It's that kind of heat that immediately zaps all of your energy out, leaving you feeling sticky and dehydrated...within seconds! Thankfully I paid $5 (yah rip off I know-now that I'm a housewife, I know I could have had two liters of pop for this price) for a 32 oz. lemon shake up, which I drank in about 5 minutes, my stomach did not approve. We walked around and ate a bit...Howard had a turkey leg, he looked like he had reverted to the stoneage and was channeling his inner Fred Flinstone.
And then made our way to my favorite place-the horse barns! Pictured below, you will see what I call-animal cruelty. First off, it's 105 degrees out and then, you make your horse participate in such a bad fashion statement, neon colored spandex, this poor horse was clearly begging for a nice mane braid and a chic leather saddle.
I also met this little horse (below), a colt...he really loved me and he kept trying to chew on my Vera or eat my sunglasses. He was a very sweet little boy though and I wanted to take him home.We then went over to the mainstage where our concert was-Casting Crowns & Jeremy Camp. I was more familiar with Casting Crowns (below) and they were fabulous. We loved it because they actually sounded like they do on the radio/cd...some artists sound completely different which isn't enjoyable. They played some of my favorites, "Praise You in this Storm", "Lifesong", and some new ones. I especially loved the two women that sang and the violinist.

Next came Jeremy Camp, apparently an Indiana native. He was good too-I just didn't know as many of his songs. He gave a great devotion and his words were very inspiring. I really enjoyed listening to him. When he came on it was dark out and the night became very COOL (PTL) and enjoyable! It was also little Sara's first concert and I think she was overwhelmed by it all. She was very cute though, complete with her foot-long corn dog which ended up leaving a trail of ketchup on her face. She finally danced a bit when Jeremy Camp came on, I think she felt like a big girl.

SIDENOTE: I took this picture of Soph this morning. Her "leaking" for a better choice of words has become pretty intense so I had to put on some SpongeBob underwear on her. She hates them, but they really do keep the mess contained. Poor girl!

I've seen feminine napkins and diapers for female dogs in heat at the pet store. Maybe this would help??

I've seen those too-but they're actually just like a pad that I already have haha. So she has one of those stuck in her underwear...I feel like she's a little woman, it's so weird!!

Hey Sarah! I just wanted to let you know about the obedience classes you asked about a while back. We take our dogs to the Indianapolis Obedience Training Club. I'm not sure what side of town you guys are on, but it is on the east side (we live on the south side and there isn't much down here in the way of obedience classes). The link to that is www.iotc.info. Let me know if you have any questions!
