Autumn Leaves

This past weekend went quickly but it ended with a trip to the apple orchard, a favorite place of mine! It seemed like we would NEVER get there after a long trip to Connersville, a stop for lunch at a mexican restaurant (pictured below-these chairs are very interesting...but were very Halloweenish) and then finally on our way to the orchard down what seemed like a million miles of winding roads.Once we got to the orchard, first stop was to get some apple treats. I had to have a delicious carmel apple and Howard had a apple dumpling with ice cream...we both shared an apple cider slush. Then, off we went to the petting zoo with accompanies the orchard...kind of odd, but they have some interesting "critters" as Uncle Greg would say. My favorites were the goats of course-I just love how they nibble on your clothes and make their little noises. There was one in particular which is pictured that really liked me to scratch him/her behind the ears, it was so cute! I also later lost the rest of my carmel apple due to a pig which I though looked really hungry. This humongo pig weighed upwards of half a thousand pounds and came to the fence when we walked up. I figured it was only right to let him take little bites off of my carmel apple-after all, I had already eaten all of the carmel off, now an apple was just left-that's healthy right? Well...I think there might have been a bit of carmel left on it because he didn't take little bites, he took that whole apple right off my stick and slobbered all over. I think it's safe to say he was a happy pig!

(I thought this one looked like Sophie-Howard didn't think so...but the floppy ears got me!)

I also thought it'd be fun to get pictures with the pumpkins, to me this was such a photo opp. I mean it is just such the classic fall picture. So enjoy the couples to follow...

Myranda and I also found a great fall craft idea which looks so easy and cheap! All it is is some fabric filled with stuffing, beans (to weigh it down) and some potpourri to give the "fall" scent...sewed up at the top with a twig and leaves hot glued and raffia to top it off. They were so cute and festive!

It was a great day (not much fall weather though in sight) and I definitely have had my fill of apples for awhile! Here are a few more pictures from our orchard adventure.
