Well, the parents convinced me that we should come back for the weekend to attend the annual APPLE AND PORK FESTIVAL! I personally could have done with out the festival, but it was great to see all of the family. On Saturday everyone came up and we braved the crowds at the A&P-I had to wait in line for a YMCA potatoe and sadly the gingerbread line was just too long for me to wait in. The heat was unbearable, especially with what I packed to wear. This past weekend in Indy it was going to be in the mid 70's so I figured it would be the same a state away. No, no...talk about a scorcher. Well first stop at the fest was a face paint for Mag and Allie-don't they look cute? They had colored eyelashes and eyelids even after they washed the paint off that evening, ha!
Also, once again, Howard was a big hit with the kids. At one point or another he most definitely had either Maggie, Allie, or Mason riding on his back/shoulders. He was worn out that evening and snoozing on the couch by at least 1o pm. Poor guy.
I didn't purchase anything at the A&P, it's all a bit too crafty for me-however, if I had a home I think I would have gotten a few Halloween or Christmas decorations. They do have cute things in regard to that. We did get black and red licorice and of course every variety of food possible. I didn't make it to the Heavenly Sweets tent, sorry Sadie, to get some fudge which I was sad about-I just forgot! It was also hillarious to see people from high school that I hadn't seen since I graduated. However, I don't think they recognized me due to the big sunglasses, so I was able to just see them and continue walking. What would we talk about anyways? It's just so weird to see how everyone either still lives in Clinton and hasn't changed or completely has.
And then, I guess we figured we hadn't had QUITE enough to eat so we decided to go to Kobe's (my favorite) Japanese restaraunt in Bloomington. The girls were very excited about this too-so we had a great time. Some of the schools were having homecoming that evening so we were able to see some of the little ones come in wearing their dresses. My cousin Mason vows he will never go to a dance, but I'm sure he will change his mind! Our faces look weird in this picture, I think due to the flaming table in front of us, not sure though?
Maggie and Allie thought it would be fun to sit at one of these tables on their way out. I think sometime we will try dining here at these tables. It looks fun and it appears from afar that you have no legs!
And finally, to wrap the weekend up on Sunday morning we were off on our way to church at FCC which begins at 10:45 am. However, to our suprise, when we got there everyone was leaving! Then we found out due to the A&P fest there was only one service that week! I was so bummed because I love their new minister there! So, we went home, got changed, and headed out to the park. Muffy got to ride with the big dog in the back of the Jeep on the way out to Weldon Springs. It was a good morning for a walk and we of course had to finish it off by eating lunch at Boondocks! What a great weekend! I'm so glad it's fall!
