I'm really wishing we had a hammock already set up between the two trees in our backyard, but instead I will stick to the corner couch for now...I've been reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. An interesting title, I know, but my friend Jill recommended it because is a fictional story about a boy with autism...something I'm dealing with in a major way in my classroom right now. I'm already half way through, it's very interesting and sheds light differently on each student of mine on the spectrum. I also would like to read:
The Strong Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson
Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism by Jenny McCarthy
Both books are currently on hold at the Carmel Library, I'll report how they are once they come in! I believe everyone should educate themselves on autism in some way due to how much it is impacting the world today...let me know if you're reading anything interesting!
