Book Worm

I'm really wishing we had a hammock already set up between the two trees in our backyard, but instead I will stick to the corner couch for now...I've been reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. An interesting title, I know, but my friend Jill recommended it because is a fictional story about a boy with autism...something I'm dealing with in a major way in my classroom right now. I'm already half way through, it's very interesting and sheds light differently on each student of mine on the spectrum. I also would like to read:
The Strong Willed Child by Dr. James Dobson
Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism by Jenny McCarthy
Both books are currently on hold at the Carmel Library, I'll report how they are once they come in! I believe everyone should educate themselves on autism in some way due to how much it is impacting the world today...let me know if you're reading anything interesting!

my work is doing a book club with the book "Positive Discipline for childcare providers." talks about better methods than time outs and changing colored cards and having a sticker or smiley chart... interesting to say the leasts. I am going to check out the autism books, i have 2 kids with autism in my class who are total opposites...
