Next Stop: The Weekend!

Amen. It's finally the weekend. I have really been longing for this weekend because that would mean my week was over!
This past week I taught a "Preschool Picasso" art camp at the Indianapolis Arts Center in Broad Ripple, one session from 9:30-11:30 and the other from 3:30-5:30. But basically by the time you get everything ready and have lunch, etc. it seems as though you're there all day and boy was I feeling it. The kids were absolutely darling and we made some really great projects, but I just wasn't ready to be thrown back into the teaching thing quite yet. You know, summer breaks are there for a reason! However, I did enjoy hanging out with preschoolers again all day and met two of my new BFF's, Annie and Wellesley, even at 5 they love Lilly Pulitzer too. So wise beyond their years!

For the rest of the summer I will be helping out with the older kids and only from 8-1...that's more my style!

In other news...I had an interview this week for a kindergarten teacher which went okay, and I didn't end up getting it. The job really wasn't where I wanted to work, but again at this point, I'm willing to take whatever I'm given. So, being a little disappointed about it today (I mean it made it even easier since it was raining all day) I had to quickly cheer myself up and remember that God has something greater planned for me, and this was just a speed bump in the bigger picture. And, low and behold, today I had a missed call from an elementary school in a wonderful school district very close to home! Amazing how God works when you're willing to let it all go, huh? I'll keep you all posted.

Tomorrow morning I have to go take two PRAXIS exams which will secure my Indiana teaching license and will be loads of fun I'm sure! Report time is 7:00 am and I will most likely be there until noon. What a great way to spend a Saturday! However, I'm glad to be getting it over with finally...pray that I pass!

Howard will continue to work on our bookshelf in hopes that it will be complete and that we can finally move back into our family room by Sunday. The den is getting a bit cramped and I am longing for a change of scenery from the red walls in here that have yet to be painted (too many other projects currently circulating).

Other than that, not much else will be going on...pretty nice for a change! I hear wicked weather is headed this way again and I just pray for the families in the wake of it all.

Hope you all have a wonderful and relaxing summer weekend!
