Quiet House

Today is the day. My dearest pups are currently either, undergoing or already through, with their major surgeries! Can you honestly believe that I woke up at about 3 am, and couldn't really get back to sleep after that because I was just anxious/nervous about today?! I feel like a complete loon, but I just had to admit to this (especially if Howard is reading, because I know I will be a complete crab later on due to my lack of zzz's). I had to get up at 6 am and get them and myself ready to go by 6:30 am so that we could make the check in time of 7 am. Poor Oliver kept looking for his water bowl which I had put up last night...no water past midnight, of course!
Upon arrival, there were already at least 8-10 cats/dogs waiting...! And I thought I would be early! So, after about 30 minutes of the dogs pulling my arms off, wanting to check all of the other animals out, we were checked in and met with the vet. He was very friendly and of course Sophie was a mess, but they gave them both a little pre-surgery "cocktail", which made me feel better and off they went. I told them both that I would "be back" as I do each day when I leave them in their kennels, so hopefully somewhere in their doggie worlds they understood that I will be coming back to get them from the scary place they're at, with lots of yapping dogs!
