Rants

Well it's a Monday and it's raining and gloomy, so I felt it was only fitting that I rant a bit. We had a great weekend (pictures to come later), but it ended with a sort of bitterness. Let me explain...We attend a fabulous church, East 91st here in Indy, that we love and feel blessed to have found-however, yesterday it was the cause of my dissapointment. I really love everything about the church besides the minister...I could almost kick myself for saying that, because who am I to judge a man of God-one who's speaking His word? I'm not trying to judge, be mean, or bring him down...I was just simply pushed over the edge at yesterday's sermon. Yesterday, at the very end of the service he was saying how we should always have the name Jesus on our tongues and in all our words if we ever hope to bring anyone to Him. Well ok fine, this I understand, but then he just HAD to jump on the bandwagon and bring down Joel Osteen (my favorite, so you already know I was stewing in my seat). He proceeded to say that when Joel Osteen was on 60 minutes that he never spoke the name of Jesus and that if he were given the opportunity he would have done soooo differently. He said that Joel had been given such an opportunity and that he basically "blew" it. Ew. I was disgusted that this man would bring down his Christian brother in front of a congregation of two thousand plus. Joel Osteen is doing something that preachers, ministers, etc. all over the world could only dream of-he's been given a talent straight from the hands of God to reach the millions that he has, how dare anyone bash him or bring him down. I was just so dissapointed and in amazement that this man would make such an unacceptable comment. Well, this isn't the first time I've felt slightly offended by his quick sarcastic comments or remarks-so we are going to try out a new church next weekend. I'm sick about it because like I said, where we are is great and I don't want to be one of those catty women who flee somewhere because they don't like what they hear-but I just feel that I can't be led by a minister that I don't support heart and soul. So, next time you want to make a comment about Joel Osteen, just remember you'll have to fear the wrath of me! hahaha. Only kidding :)

Well said. I felt that way about your minister the first time I heard him talk, but kept it to myself. I know there is another church out there waiting for your presence!
